Process

After your initial consultation, when all your questions have been answered and you are comfortable with the treatment plan; your informed consent will be obtained. Expect to have your photograph taken to record your baseline image and celebrate your improvement. Your photographs will be kept with your file with the same strict confidentiality as your medical records.

The area is thoroughly cleansed with antiseptic cleanser. A local anesthetic is then injected to maximize your comfort. Dr. Jane Burk-Vassallo will expertly excise the lesion. Tissue will be sent for analysis. Sutures will close the gap. Arrangements will be made to remove sutures in 5-10 days.

Aftercare

  • Patients may resume regular activities following the procedure, as there is no downtime involved in most cases.
  • The treated area will be bandaged if required.
  • It is important to keep the healing area dry (showering is fine, just pat dry afterwards).
  • You will likely have sutures that you will return to aspireMD to remove in 5-10 days depending on their anatomical location.
